Description from Goodreads.com:
Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.

Kacey doesn't want to feel. She doesn't. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.

But Kacey isn't the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

Review:
Holy Cow! I absolutely loved this book! I had to finish it in one day that's how good it was. I just couldn't put it down and I had to figure out how it was going to end. This was definitely a very addictive read and I enjoyed every single second of it. There isn't a single thing that I would change about this book, that's how good it truly is. There is so much raw emotion that I felt like I was watching a movie instead of a reading a book, you really felt one with Kacey.

Lets start with the characters. Absolutely flawless. I really loved Kacey, our main character. She was very troubled, but for good reason and you never really wanted to scold her. You accepted Kacey and the way she acted, because you really got into her head. The only time I wanted to jump in the book and yell NO!! to Kacey is the scene with Ben at the gym. If you read this novel you will all know what scene I am talking about, but I am glad with how that scene ended up going. Livie was a great little sister. She was truly a guardian angel to everyone in the story and completely likeable. Storm was awesome and a very believable character. She wasn't always a certain way, you could see her different sides as a person. Finally we have to talk about Trent. Absolutely loved his character. I couldn't get enough of him and I really loved that K.A. Tucker really showed how he had many different sides to him (his bad boy then really sweet guy) by showing us and not just telling us how he is. Overall K.A. Tucker did a GREAT job with character development. I really seen these people as just that, people NOT characters.

Now for the plot and story line. Unbelievable. It was seriously flawless. I loved every second of everything that happened. This story is so believable and never cheesy or over done. It is true and emotion pulling. For the last couple chapters I was literally crying while reading. It takes a true artist and author to make me cry that hard for characters. K.A. Tucker you have me hooked by the heart strings for your writing. I was completely sold by this style of story telling. Again, there is nothing I would change about this novel. Completely perfect and unique.

I will admit that I did guess one of the key points of the ending before reading it, but I didn't guess just how much time the author was going to spend making the reader hope for a different outcome or root so hard for a happy ending. The ending was amazing! I love it! If someone would have come up to me and told me what happens in this novel from beginning to end I wouldn't have loved the ending. I would say that it was ridiculous, but after going through everything with Kacey I thought it was perfect and couldn't have ended better.

Overall:
IN LOVE! IN LOVE! IN LOVE! I can't say enough positive things about this book. I am completely sold by this book. K.A. Tucker has trapped me by the heart strings and I will definitely continue to read this series and her work. AMAZING! This book literally had me crying my eyes out by the end. I wouldn't change a single thing about this novel and I suggest everyone going out and getting a copy and reading it for themselves. LOVED IT!
