Description from Goodreads.com:
Two strangers…

Makenna James thinks her day can't get any worse, until she finds herself stranded in a pitch-black elevator with a complete stranger. Distracted by a phone call, the pin-striped accountant catches only a glimpse of a dragon tattoo on his hand before the lights go out.

Four hours…

Caden Grayson is amused when a harried redhead dashes into his elevator fumbling her bags and cell phone. His amusement turns to panic when the power fails. Despite his piercings, tats, and vicious scar, he's terrified of the dark and confined spaces. Now, he's trapped in his own worst nightmare.

One pitch-black elevator…

To fight fear, they must reach out and open up. With no preconceived notions based on looks to hold them back, they discover just how much they have in common. In the warming darkness, attraction grows and sparks fly, but will they feel the same when the lights come back on?

Review:
I will warn you now that this book is technically erotica. I normally don't read, review or put too many things that are in that category on here since this is a YA focused blog, but this book was too good to not mention.

I received this book for free while attending Jennifer Armentrout's Apollycon 16, and normally when i'm on vacation, especially attending book conventions, I don't read. I just usually don't have the time, but there was just something about this book that made me open it up. Plus, it's only 112 pages so I knew it wouldn't take me long to read at all.

For being such a short book, it packs a lot! The entire thing takes place in about 24 hours, but we learn so much about the characters. I really felt like I read a full length novel about these two, because I knew them inside and out. Laura Kaye is truly a talented writer, because to take something that would take anyone else hundreds of pages to flesh out, and do it in a hundred blows my mind.

The sex scenes are very hot and heavy, it is erotica after all, but it's nothing too out of the ordinary. It's not BDSM, it's not threesomes or anything someone might call "too crazy". I really, really enjoyed this book and I don't feel embarrassed for reading it or sharing it on the blog. If you're  old enough, check it out!

Overall:
Absolutely loved it and could not put it down! I normally don't read while on vacation, especially at book conventions, but something about this book said, "start reading me, now" and I couldn't stop. The characters are very well fleshed out and although this is a very short book, you really get to know them. I cannot wait to get my hands on book two and see what happens next for Makenna and Caden.
