Follow Friday #15
This Weeks Follow Friday Question:Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?? I don't think so. I have always been the type of person to side with the good guys, i've always loved the villains character afterwards, but i've never wanted them to win. Like in the disney movies, i love the villains, but i would never want them to win. I think it is going to be interesting to see what you guys say for your answers to this question this follow friday. Hi, new follower :)
ReplyDeleteIn a few movies/books/shows I have actually wanted the villain to win but only because he/she was shown to be worthy somehow.

ReplyDeleteFor me, I tend to want villains to be redeemed. I love a good sympathetic villain.

Great answer, though I've always functioned on less black and white, and more grey. So, that's why I've sort of found myself rooting for a few of the villains to win here and there. Not all of them, but a mere handful that I happened to really enjoy a great deal. My thing is, that I can't always root for the good guy, because sometimes the good guy isn't always a good guy. And sometimes the villain of the story, isn't always the villain either, but a good guy masquerading as such. Therein lies the grey area that I'm more fond of. :)

Yea same here. If they are just a villain then i don't like em, but if they show some niceness then i end up softening up a bit =]

ReplyDeleteHaHa no problem =D
ReplyDeleteWhoo! Go Good Guys!! Ill check out your blog/follow back here soon =D
ReplyDeleteMe too.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I love how complex the villain's characters are and the dynamic they add to the story. But, I don't want them to win unless they're a gray villain, like Snape, and have a redeeming quality.
ReplyDeleteYea same here. If they have a heart, then i let them into mine haha CORNY!!
ReplyDeleteThanks you! You have no idea how much those comments mean to me ='D It is hard to find a villain you want to win, i dont know how people do it. Ill check out and comment on yours in a sec =D
ReplyDeleteIm quite fond of the grey area as well =]
ReplyDeleteI really like Snape as well =D He has def. grown on me, hes so funny and snarky.
ReplyDeleteOh, good then. I don't know, I just don't want to believe that everything is so easy, ya know.
ReplyDeleteGood answer, I love it when villains are so well written that there is a human element to them but they still do the bad things. Makes the story better and the character more interesting. A lot of people didn't answer cause they think of a villain. I choose the villain in Evermore.
ReplyDeleteHard to root for the bad guy unless you're given a good reason!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Following you back!
I prefer if a villain has a great back story and a personality...ones that even though they do horrible things they still have great qualities.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :)

ReplyDeleteYea, if you just give me a guy thats evil just because or for a dumb reason, im gonna hate him, but if you give me a guy that has a good reason or a really good personality, ill deal with him lol.
