Description from Amazon:
Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager growing up in the small port town of Astoria. Sure, she is taller than average, has a mane of fiery red hair that is impossible to tame, is left handed, and has one eye that is sky blue and one that is amber, but that is where the differences end . . . unless you include the “minor” detail of her slow metamorphosis into the Childe.

We all know how difficult high school can be, and for Cat Colvin it is no different. Except for the fact she has the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times.

This first book in this coming of age fantasy series follows Cat's life through the twists and turns toward finding out what and who she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with biting humor, darkness, and yes, a few life lessons as well.

Review:
I know you guys are probably thinking that something is wrong with me, because it seems that every book i've reviewed has been getting 5 stars, but trust me they deserve it and this is another one who greatly deserves it!! I was completely blow away with this book. It keeps you anticipating for something to happen and when it does you're are just so full of excitement, because it FINALLY happened. The characters are amazing and each person has their own identity. Im used to reading books that has two main characters and then a couple sub characters here and there, but this novel has tons of characters who appear a lot, which means you really get to know everyone.

I also really loved their writing style. It showed everyone's thoughts. Everyone got a little bit of narration it seemed, and each had their own thoughts that the authors shared with us. Another thing that was really cute was that each chapter had a picture that went along with the chapter title and i just ate it up, i love having small illistrations here and there, because it reminds me of being kid and marveling at the pictures. Cat's story is amazing and i think that both Carol and Adam did an amazing job with it. I love Ryan so much, and the whole time i was rooting for him to make a move. The only thing i hate was how as soon as you finally get to the really good stuff when all the truth's come out, it ends. I wish book two was out so i could have read it right after this. I am so in love with this series, i cannot wait to find out when book two comes out. I dont know how to express how much i loved this any more than i already have. I honestly couldn't find anything wrong with it, it had me eating out of its hand the entire time.  Everyone needs to go pick this up!!

Overall:
This is just another AMAZING series that i need to add to the growing list of series i need to keep reading. I was hooked from the beginning and found myself connecting to Cat the entire time. This novel's writing style is different than anything ive read before and they give you enough information to keep you at bay, but still have TONS left to tell you in the books to come. I will be waiting with TONS of anticipation for the next one to come out and will treat it like a red-carpet premiere.
