Follow Friday #28
This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?
If I were to do it all over again I think I would start off slow and not set so many expectations for myself. I started off following so many amazing blogs and blogs that had hundreds and even thousands of followers and thought to myself "If I want to be like them I have to what they do." So I worked my butt off, I read as many books as I could and reviewed like crazy. I participated in a bunch of meme's and said yes to the majority of the review requests I was sent. I built up this complex where I had to fight through it and keep reading and reviewing to have people like the blog and I ended up crashing. Once the college semester came up and I had to take a break in my usual reading habits I just completely stopped. Books didn't even look appealing to me. Now I realize that this blog is to be run at my own pace. I don't need to feel bad when I don't read for a day or if I take a break from reading a book that I received for review to read a book I personally bought.
I am finally learning how to create my own schedule for reading and I am ok with it. Before I was very overwhelmed when the school year was coming up, but now I feel like I will be ok this year. My advice if you are a new blogger would be don't get overwhelmed and don't let your eyes get so wide with all the opportunities to receive novels. Take your time and set your own pace and then begin taking requests.

I have that problem too. I would just work my butt off staying up late or reading when should have been studying and in the end reading felt like a chore to me. Now I have developed my own reading schedule, which allows me to breathe and enjoy book blogging.

Old Follower :)
I did the same thing, reading everyday, panicing that I wasn't doing/reading/networking/commenting enough. It took all the enjoyment out of running my blog and I became a nervous wreck. Then I realised that the only person putting pressure on me, or had high expectations of me was myself and I took a massive step back. I want my blog to be amazing, to be the best it can be, but it will get there without me dying to do it. I wholeheartedly agree with you : )
