Review:
I really wanted to love The Last Glass. I found the premise interesting, and it sounding like something that would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, it was not. My biggest issue with this book, and the number one reason why I couldn't finish reading it, was due to the abundance of editorial issues. It could have been that the copy I received is an older edition that wasn't at the end of it editing process. I really hope that this is the case, because the editor inside of me was clawing to start taking notes. There were a couple grammar issues, but for the most part is was sentence structure. There were so many things that could have been re-worded to sound better, or re-worked where it was all more cohesive. This is what makes me think I have gotten an earlier draft, because it just didn't have that polished flow.

In terms of the storyline, I really liked it in the beginning. Like I said, I really thought this was going to be a book I ended up loving. For the most part it worked really well and I liked it, but there were a couple parts that I questioned. For example, there is an insta-love between Tori and Crispin. At first they both question their attraction to each other, but then they just let it happen and stopped questioning. I would have appreciated a little more apprehension, at least on Tori's end. Another thing was that there is a big secret that Tori's mom is keeping from her. You would think that in order to keep her safe her mom would have told her, because it seems to do her more harm than good not knowing. It was small things like this that I questioned, but I usually find small things to question the characters over.

In the end, I couldn't finish the book, because I kept questioning the characters actions and the lack of editing was killing me. I think if the editorial issues were taken care of I would have at least been able to finish it. I don't know if I would have ended up giving it a 5-star review or not, but I think it would at least be a 3. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't, but I know that the subject that this book deals with is one I love. Hopefully the version out there now is a finalized, polished version and if so, I say definitely give it a shot!

Overall:
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish this book. I really wanted to finish it, love it, and give it a 5-star rating but I couldn't. The number one reason was because of editorial issues. There were so many sentences that could have be re-worded and re-worked to make the story more cohesive and flow better. It was honestly driving me nuts. So much so, it caused me not to finish reading it. I was also questioning the characters actions, but that usually happens with any book so I really don't hold that against the story. If the story flowed better and was more polished I think I would have finished it and ended up really liking it, but that just wasn't the case. I feel I may have just received an earlier edition that wasn't through it's editing process. If this is the case, I really think you should try the book out for yourself, because it was a really interesting storyline!
