Follow Friday #156

This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
Today is the US' Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

Mine would have to be a toss up between The Hunger Games and The Selection. The Hunger Games has a clear war element and overthrow of the government so it's a pretty obvious choice. The Selection's main story isn't overthrowing the government (it's kind of the opposite), but at the same time there is a strong element of rebellion through out the entire book.

DON'T FORGET! GFC IS BEING TAKEN DOWN SO PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FIND AN ALTERNATE WAY TO FOLLOW

  9. Hunger Games definitely has the overthrow element :) It depressed me too much so I ended up reading a synopsis. Happy Friday! Old follower.

  24. From what I've heard the sequel to Selection has more rebellion elements to it than the first one. I also love that book though! :) Seeing a lot of the Hunger Games this week, I specified Catching Fire myself. It was my fave in the series, and seriously brutal/warlike. New bloglovin' and twitter follower.

  27. I don't know if I'll read The Selection, because of the romance being basically the only plot in the book. I love dystopians, but it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of my list. The hunger games is a favorite though.

  28. Yea, the main focus is definitely the romance, so if romance really isn't your thing then you probably won't enjoy it at all. Thanks for hopping by!
