Review:
This book is definitely much different than anything i've read. It makes you think about things differently, because of the new theory it creates about what angels really are. I know i've heard of people saying that they saw an angel and the theory that this book presents makes you hope you dont see an angel. I have both good and bad things to say about this novel. The bad things are very minor though, so the good things outshine them.The good parts about Angel Burn is that like i said before it is very different. I really liked that it was more of an action novel almost. It was kind of intense and you could feel the panic that the characters had. I also liked that the romance slowly bubbled over time, it wasn't immediate like in most books. Yes the attraction was immediate, because of physical attractions, but there wasn't love at first site. I didn't like that they said I love you as soon as the feelings finally got out in the open, but i mean when you realize you like someone a LOT you get that feeling of love, but you just dont say it right away, so i kind of understoof and just let it pass.
The story is told, in total, by four different characters. This was both good and bad. I liked that it showed everyone's point of view during it, but i didn't like that it told Raziel's point of view. I didn't care about his point of view, because he's the bad guy. The only benefit from his point of view is that you got more information about angels. The only other bad things were that the beginning, at least for me, was very slow. It took me two days just to read till chapter 4, i almost put it down. The other thing is the ending. I feel like this series could have ended in book one, and i would have been ok with that. Weatherly prepares you for this to be a one book only novel, but then at the last second makes it carry on to a book two to find out what is going to happen next, but its not a cliff hanger.
Overall:
I liked Angel Burn, i didn't love it. The beginning was very slow, but as i read on it grew on me and i ended up speeding through it. Even though i liked this book and rate it at a four it wasn't exciting enough to make me want to read the next book in this series. Im sure maybe one day ill want to read it, but right now i really dont have the drive. I liked this one, but not enough to continue on.
