Description from Goodreads.com:
Her first year away is turning out to be nearly perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Eighteen-year-old Harper has grown up under the thumb of her career marine father. Ready to live life her own way and to experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit, she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

Thanks to her new roommate, Harper is introduced to a world of parties, gorgeous guys, family, and emotions. She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with both her new boyfriend, Brandon, and her roommate's brother, Chase. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both men adore Harper and would do anything for her, including taking a step back if it would mean she'd be happy.

Review:
Taking Chances was such an excellent book. I am so happy that I read Between the Covers, a HUGE New Adult sampler book, and heard about Taking Chances, because otherwise I may have never read it. Trust me, if you are New Adult fan or think you might like New Adult if you tried it, then go download Between the Covers. It's FREE!! Now that I am done spotlighting, lets get on with the review =)

This book is honestly such an emotional roller coaster. It honestly had me feeling all of my feelings, and at full force. There is a major scene halfway through the book that literally had me sobbing. If my fiance wasn't sleeping next to me in the bed while I was reading it I probably would have full out ugly cried over it, but I didn't want to wake him up. Thats true love right there, people lol. I absolutely love when a book makes me cry, because then I know that the author really wanted to accomplish something with their book and they succeeded. Well, Molly McAdams you have succeeded!

The characters were phenomenal and were all very well formed. None of them strayed from their true character, unless they were supposed to stray from themselves. They each felt like a real person and I almost feel like I watched a movie instead of read a book. Harper was an amazing main character. She really drew me in and made me fall absolutely in love with her. I loved everything about her and supported most, if not everything, she did. She was absolutely lovely and I couldn't have picked a better main character.

I think the best part is probably the story line and plot points. There were so many twists and turns, curveballs, and blind siding. You honestly never knew what to expect, except if you looked at how many pages you have left to read you knew something big was still going to happen, because it wasn't going to be "And they lived happy ever after" for another 200 pages. It was a very anticipating read and really had my adrenaline going. I didn't know what was going to happen next or when, and that was the fun part. I didn't want to guess, I didn't want to know what happened before being told. I completely enjoyed this book, because it was a shock factor book.

The ending was fantastic and I think everything ended up really great. I don't think there is anything that I would have changed about this book or anything that I thought needed readjustment. It was truly a fantastic read and definitely one that will be on my top greatest books list.

Overall:
Phenomenal read! This book was so deep that it really made me feel all of my emotions with one story. At one point it even had me literally balling my eyes out. Harper, our main character, was completely lovely and I highly enjoyed reading her story. I felt she was the perfect main character and made all the right decision, even when she made the bad ones. This book is a complete shock factor book, I had no idea what was going to happen next, and I didn't want to. I loved being surprised and waiting to find out what was going to happen as it was laid out. Really fantastic read and I cannot wait to read more from Molly McAdams. I highly suggest this to all fans of New Adult, or those who want to try some New Adult.
