Being connected to Daemon Black sucks...

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon's determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I've sworn him off, even though he's running more hot than cold these days. But we've got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town...

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I'm a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who's got a secret of his own. He knows what's happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes...

I've seen someone who shouldn't be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he's never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them - from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies...

Review:
I am completely loving this series and never want it to end. I feel the first book was intense will emotions between Daemon and Katy and figuring out what Daemon and his family were, but Onyx is just intense with action and secrets and ass-kicking lol. Onyx is a very intense novel with all that happens in it. I am very pleased with how it turned out and how emotional exhausted I was at the end of it. Book three could not come out any sooner.

*Most likely small spoilers from this point on*
I couldn't be more happy about Katy and Daemon being linked or bonded or whatever. The way he starts acting now, because of it, makes me squeal with delight. When the cookie scene happened I almost died lol. here is a sneak peak...

"Cookie?" he offered, holding a cookie full of chocolate chips.
Upset tummy or not, there was no way I could refuse that. "sure."
His lips tipped up on one side and he leaned toward me, his mouth inches from mine. "Come and get it."
Come and get...? Daemon places half of the cookie between those full, totally kissable lips.
Oh, holy alien babies everywhere...
-Pg. 3&4

Can you believe that scene! And its just in chapter one! ON PAGE THREE!! lmao I love that Daemon is done being a jerk face to Katy and is now trying to win her over. I absolutely love Daemon and think they are perfect together. There is more blog stuff talked about in this book as well (yay!), but it is pretty small. There is one point where Daemon helps Katy out with an IMM and I about died.

Once Blake gets to town things get pretty action packed, because he knows a LOT about Luxen like Daemon, way more than any regular human should ever know. This is where things start to get really interesting, because you're not sure who to listen to or trust until its too late. I really loved how dramatic this novel got. It got really dark and really really good. My heart was racing through most of the novel. There are a few very sad parts and you will more than likely cry. It's ok, I did too. The ending is pretty insane and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen now that we know so much about the DOD and their real plans. There are so many characters in this story who we don't know what is going to happen with them till book three and it is driving me crazy!
*Small spoilers over*

Overall:
Really, REALLY great addition to the Lux series. Sometimes the second book in a series doesn't quite match up to book ones awesomeness, but Onyx definitely matches up its previous novel. Onyx is very intense. Yes, emotionally intense, because thats just how it seems Jennifer writes, but also action-packed intense. Onyx isn't like Obsidian where it's mainly just about Katy and Daemon, Onyx involves every character we've ever met, it seems. A lot of bad stuff goes down in this book and your heart will be hammering away through the whole novel. Don't get me wrong there are some really good scenes between Katy and Daemon, but for the most part it is utter chaos and you don't know who to trust. I cannot wait for book three to come out this December. It needs to get here much faster, because I am dying to continue on with this series!
