Review:
Oh my gosh! I didn't know how I would end up liking this novel, because the description is kind of vague. You can tell that a lot is going to happen, but it gives you no clue as to what it is that is going to happen. I am so happy that I was asked to review this novel, because I loved it!

Survival starts out by introducing Maddie. She has lost both of her parents and is still adjusting to being on her own. She goes hiking during christmas break to try to not have another depressing Christmas when she is abducted by a psychopath. From the very beginning you are entrapped in the story. You learn about how hard of a life Maddie has had and then when she gets abducted you really start to root for her. You automatically are team Maddie whether you liked her in the very beginning or not. At first I thought she was too perky for me and I didn't like how open she was with strangers, but once she goes hiking it all turns around.

I got kind of frustrated in the middle, because for awhile her rescuer won't tell her anything about him or his life. It is very annoying because you want the full story, but my frustration made me want to keep going and find out. Survival was unlike any other novel I have ever read. The romance in the novel is breathtaking and makes you swoon. The whole time I was smiling and awwing over how cute they are. That is all I will say about it, because I want you to go into this novel blind like me and fall in love on the way.

Lastly the ending. I want to kill Hargrove over this ending. It is a HUGE cliffhanger! I was reading so fast waiting to find out what was going to happen and then BAM! "to be continued...". If my little cousin wasn't in the room with me and I wasn't embarrassed of making a fool of myself I would have screamed. I did fake yell to the heavens and shake my iPhone when her back was turned =). I really cannot wait to read the second novel, because I need to know what happens!

Overall:
I loved Survival! It was unlike anything I have ever read before. I love Maddie's character and I love that you quickly love her character because of the terrible events that take place. You start rooting for her from page one. I loved the romance in this novel and thought it was perfect. Me being a romance nut I of course wouldn't have minded more cuteness, but what was there was good enough for me. The ending is a HUGE cliffhanger and I am dying to find out what happens. I recommend this to those who love YA paranormals and are looking for a new paranormal to fall in love with. I will definitely be continuing on with this series!
